In Home Newborn Session for Baby Mac in Cincinnati, Ohio

Oh my gooooodness. I am so excited to share these today because anytime I get to photograph a sweet little newborn, my day is made! I have photographed so many babies by this point in my career but getting welcomed into people’s homes and documenting those early, special days as parents to a new baby feels like it’s own little super power to capture that fleeting time. But especially when those parents are brand new parents to their first baby like these guys welcoming in their sweet little Baby Mac.

I went to their gorgeous, historic home in Cincinnati welcomed by their 2 dogs and a great sense of calm. Which, I really admire these 2 for braving into parenting so well because I remember my early days as a new mom being frantic and crazy as I was learning how to do so many things for the first time! And even though I know this is just a small blip I’m witnessing, these guys flowed through their session with me easily and it was beautiful to see.

I always allot about 2 hours for newborn sessions so the pace feels relaxed, easy, and I can organically capture things as they happen. The sweet cuddles after a feed. The nursery. The changes for clothes and diapers. Interactions with any fur babies and in general, capturing the feel of your life just as much as baby. Because not only is that a special thing for you to have, it’s also a gift for your baby too. Because someday, that baby will be a kid.. a teenager… and an adult of their own. And how neat would it be to what life was like when it all started for them? And see how it all started for you? 😊

All the little moments for this one for Baby Mac felt so beautiful and organic in their old Cincinnati house full of charm and character. I got blessed with a sunny day for these too so it was so fun to play with the dappled light coming in from the windows. And can’t wait to photograph even more sweet little babies this year (because I’ve got quite a few lined up!)
