Summer Maternity Session through Marmalade Lily’s Flower Farm in Loveland, Ohio
Last summer, Katie reached out to me wanting her maternity photos to be taken somewhere there are lots of flowers. And I instantly thought of the beautiful Marmalade Lily Wedding Venue and Flower Farm over in Loveland! I’ve photographed over a dozen weddings there alone in years past. And even though I don’t photograph weddings anymore, I still love doing sessions there whenever I can because truly, it’s gorgeous!
One of my favorite things is using their huge hydrangea wall during it’s peak time in summer when it’s absolutely covered in white blooms. And actually, we were able to plan Katie’s maternity session to be right in that window of time! So I was so I couldn’t wait to use this.
We also turned this maternity session into a little family session too documenting some of their last photos as a family of 3 before welcoming in their new baby girl who I also had the privilege of photographing her newborn photos for in the fall! (tho, those haven’t gotten ready for the blog just yet as I find myself severely behind from sessions last year!)
Weather as a little iffy for us this session. Super humid with a little bit of rain coming down on us but nothing too crazy. I actually don’t mind it when it lightly rains at sessions because truly, it can add more depth in colors on cloudy days and when you’re using a flower farm for your location, that can really work out in your favor to make colors pop 😊 and in general, this moody day gave me some great, even light to work with and made this one really enjoyable. And since we had the place to ourselves, their youngest daughter Caroline could meander around at her own leisure giving me some amazing candids for her too 😊
So, enjoy all of these and if you’re wanting a pretty place full of flowers, maybe consider Marmalade Lily for your session too 😊
