Backyard Maternity Session with The Taylors in Evendale, Ohio

I remember Carly reaching out to me wanting to book in a Journey Package for her expected pregnancy. She wanted her maternity, 6 month, and 12 month milestones documented for her baby and of course, I was all about it!

She also told me they recently moved into a house last year and wanted to do their maternity and newborn sessions there for sure to document the early days in their (potentially) forever home and told me they had a forested backyard with their own creek access 😊 so of course, I was down to come over and whatever magic they had at home.

What I didn’t realize was HOW MAGICAL their backyard actually was! The creek had full access and was trickling down the calmest water for this day after the leaves had just fully come out in April. Looking at these images, you would absolutely never know this was their own backyard and in suburban Cincinnati of all places. But also, we got so so so blessed with the most gorgeous lighting peaking over the ridgeline just behind their home which was a recipe for pure magic for this photographer.

I tried some new poses and angles for this shoot too which was really fun to do and just really appreciate these two for being down to crawl through the creek, lay in those woods, and even frolic a little bit as we made this magic together just a few weeks ago. I’ve got their newborn session lined up too for this summer and cannot wait to make magic again with these two 😊

Also, fun fact, you would never know it but this was the first time I had ever even met Carly + Zach! I know a lot of folks get nervous booking a session sometimes with a photographer for the first time (and maybe especially doing it at home) but truly, it was so easy working with them 😊 and even though I do have a lot of returning clients these days, it’s really nice to meet new folks too. And I’ve had quite a few new families as I’ve moved into family photography full time 😊 so, Carly + Zach, thank you for inviting me to your home and letting me document you guys for the first time!

Enjoy all of these and truly, this is going down as one of my most magical maternity sessions ever :)
