Backyard Family Session with the Hathaways in Lebanon, Ohio

I had an amazing time earlier this year chasing around the Hathaway family around one of their best friend’s properties out in Lebanon, Ohio and we had so much fun exploring together.

These guys were willing to go anywhere around the property too and fun fact, I ended up slipping straight down the side of a hill into a muddy creek at one point getting a shot for these guys haha!! But, it was so worth it and thankfully I was wearing my rubber berks for this one too ((I always seem to get completely destroyed at an outdoor session between sweat, mud, or random seeds stuck to me hahah I joke to my husband when I come home that if I’m clean, I didn’t actually take any photos)) but it’s always worth it!! 

For this session though, there were quite a few little nature gifts that we got that really made this for the Hathaways. First, Madison’s daughter found a 4 leaf clover right toward the beginning of our session! We made wishes blowing on dandelions and skipped around the forest soaking up some much needed spring warmth.

After that though, we traveled to the back of the property where we found this beautiful bed of white clover flowers growing and it made for the most beauuuuuitful mommy/daughter moments I’ve maybe ever taken. The lighting that peaked through this huge old oak tree too growing alongside the creek made them all glow a little extra and I’m gonna toot my own horn here for a sec…. the photos look straight out of a movie. They’re among my favorite photos I’ve ever taken for clients before.

But to top all this off, we were triple blessed with an amazing sunset that quite literally took my breath away. I couldn’t get over the shower of golden hues filling the air around us as we played red light green light, tag, and skipped through the field of golden light.

Truly, this one was for the books and I had so much fun with these guys. This was my 2nd time photographing them too and it was so nice to see how much the kids had grown in a couple of years!

Let this session be a prime example and reminder that you do not need to have epic, mountainous landscapes to make your photos gorgeous or your session successful overall. All you need is the togetherness with your family and just about anywhere can look and be magical :)
