Relaxed Newborn Photos at Home Welcoming in Baby Thea in Lebanon, Ohio
I have been photographing the Ludwigs since their engagement session in 2018! I watched them go from a couple of high school sweethearts, to married at the Bengals stadium in 2019, to becoming parents not only once, but twice now! I photographed maternity photos for them too for both pregnancies, a couple of mini sessions inbetween, and now a newborn session for their newest addition, little baby Thea
.
Now, Thea was born early and has been through quite the journey so far in her very short life. She's actually had to be on oxygen everyday since birth and even was in the NICU for a little while before these guys could come home for good with her. But she's been so strong (and so have her super resilient parents!!) helping her grow through this crazy journey and by the time we did this session, little Thea was able to be off oxygen for a couple of hours for us - which happened to be her longest time off the tubes since birth!! Win win win!
When we did this session, little Thea was about 2 months old. So a little older than my usual newborns of about 1-3 weeks after birth. But sometimes, that's the best way to be. To give baby and the family time and space to heal and grow into the needs a newborn demands, especially when they need a little extra care. Just because you miss the first few weeks doesn't mean you can't still get "newborn" photos done! Cute baby photos anytime within the first few months truly can count as a newborn session in my eyes. Because it's all about accepting this new life, loving it, and just documenting the moments as they naturally unfold anyways. So whether they're 1 week or 9 weeks... it's all still so special and very very fleeting.
If you've been around here for a while and following my work you know I'm not about the traditional newborn photography anyways with lots of poses and props. All I really want to do is capture you and yours in the most magical, authentic way possible and that magic can be captured truly at any stage of life :)
Anyway, enough rambling from me!! Enjoy seeing this gorgeous session with the Ludwigs in their new home out in Lebanon where I spent the afternoon documenting their time togethter as it naturally happened.
And, Mackenzie, if you're reading this... I truly am over the MOON proud of you and Nick. You guys are the best parents ever and truly I count it as a major blessing of my life to get to have documented this incredible journey you two are on together. Thank you for inviting me over and letting me capture you guys yet again :')
