Late Fall Session with the Lauf Family

Early last year, Amanda reached out to me wanting to sign up for my Journey Package for her soon to be 2nd baby boy! And chose to customize her Journey Package to newborn, 6 months, and 1 year.

First session up was the newborn session which I finally got to meet these guys in person to do baby Case’s newborn photos last winter. They turned out so cute and it was so wonderful photographing these guys in their own home as a new family of 4!

When the date came up for her 6 month session for baby Case, life got super hectic for her and the Lauf family so the 6 month session turned into the 8 month session! Which, was totally fine. Because what a cute milestone to be documenting!! That’s what’s great about having the Journey Package is it can flux and flow with your family to meet your needs best.

I met up with these guys in a field nearby at the beginning of November for this session and honestly was met with some really unique lighting as some clouds rolled in covering the sun. It gave me some really diffused golden hour through the gorgeous textures of the tall grass and truly, in all my years, I’ve never gotten to play with lighting quite like this. On top of it all, these guys have been through a lot in the past year and honestly, it was great to create a space to just breath, relax, and let loose a little together :)

So happy we could make this shoot happen and it’s proof that even when there’s no leaves on the trees and golden hour gets covered in clouds, you can still make beautiful photos no matter what.
