Halloween Family Session with the Pettits in Hamilton, Ohio
I had a lot of fun doing this session with the Pettit family! This was my first time ever meeting them in person and it was honestly so nice to finally get the chance.
Sabrina has been actually following me and my work for a long time. And we became insta friends a while ago. Her heart is so big too, she’s even recently supported my start into my art journey and even purchased one of my paintings before! So getting to see and meet her and her family in person was such a gift in the middle of my crazy busy season.
When we first started planning doing this session for them, Sabrina shared with me this was the first time they’ve done family photos since their wedding!! So it was the first professional shoot they’ve done for their family and honestly, I felt honored to be the one!
Her first initial thoughts were keeping it to a more traditional style shoot with earth toned neutrals going through a gorgeous fall colored forest. But the closer we got to the date, the more she realized she really wanted to go for something more “them” and when she shared this with me, I 100000% agreed and encouraged!!
Sabrina found the most perfect black dresses for her and her girlies and wondered how it would work for our location in mind so she reached out to me, sent me photos, and I KNEW they would work perfectly. So I highly encouraged and she made it happen!! And she told me she was so happy she did.
On top of all that, with the session being just days out from Halloween, her kids really wanted to be ghosts for a few photos and jump on the widly popular trend. It’s been a couple of years since I did photos like that so I too was 100% down!! And I thought, what a fun way to incorporate what the kids wanted too! And to make them feel a part of this shoot just as much as their parents 😊
So, I took them to my favorite places in Rentschler Forest in Hamilton, Ohio – one of the locations I’ve been using the LONGEST in my career – and we frolicked, played, and soaked up the PEAK of the fall color here in Ohio in October. I had so much fun with these guys and seriously couldn’t get over how well they all turned out. Enjoy all of these <3
